From North (via I-85 or I-77): South on I-85 or I-77 to Charlotte, NC. In Charlotte travel south on I-77 toward Columbia/Rock Hill. Ten miles south of Charlotte, take Carowinds Blvd. Exit 90. Right on Carowinds Blvd. toward theme park. (See From Carowinds below)
From South (via I-77): Go North toward Charlotte on I-77; nine miles past Rock Hill, SC take Carowinds Blvd. Exit 90. Left on Carowinds Blvd. toward theme park.
From Carowinds: After passing theme park on your right, go two miles and turn left on Hwy. 49 South (York Road). Go six miles, crossing Lake Wylie, take first left after crossing bridge. Our camp gate is the next left.
From South (via I-85): Ten miles north of Gaffney, SC at Blacksburg, SC, take Exit 102 (Route 198). Turn toward Blacksburg and go one and a half miles. Turn left on Route 5 and proceed toward Clover, SC. After six miles, bear left on Route 55 and go through Clover. Two miles past Clover, turn left on Route 557 toward Charlotte and go eight miles. At traffic light, continue straight as road becomes Hwy. 49 North. Go two miles to entrance to River Hills and Camp Thunderbird, then left through our front gate. If you’ve crossed the lake, you’ve gone one-half mile too far.
